[/font] [STYLE=font-size: 9px; word-spacing: -1px;] Sunlight filtered through the canopy that the trees created above him, leaving speckles of light across his already splashed coat. The path in front of him opened into the meadow that consisted of most of the Achup tribe lands. The trees were sparse and the area open. He snorted softly, a small, almost inaudible sound paired with a snort shake of his head. He much preferred the seclusion of the forest. Someone had once said that perhaps he would have been better suited being born into the Keluk tribe, though he disagrees. He enjoys the forest because it is away from everyone else. If he were to be a part of the Keluk tribe, everyone would live in the forest. If that were true, then maybe he would have found the open meadows more pleasing. Though, this was the way he liked things. The shadows of the trees at night and the moonlight glimpsing through. The patches of heat and sunlight during the day. And of course, the chattering of other animals. What others like him heard were just meaningless chirps from the birds and chitterings from the ground animals. Each sound was a word that he understood, though almost never replied to. He had heard people speak of him being so alone in the forest; why would anyone want that? Truthfully, though he preferred to be alone, or only in the company of Ander, he never was. Blessed with the power of animal control, he could understand and converse with any creature he wished. That didn't mean he chose to regularly though. Most of the time he just ignored their questions and conversations, none of it was particularly important. He turned away, pulling his eyes away from the meadow that stretched in front of him and the few tribe members that mingled there. He ducked his head, antlers dipping under the low-hanging tree branch and continued to walk further into the foliage. Ander yawned, his maw opening wide to reveal large, feline teeth before he stood and trotted after the equine, his paws leaving prints next to those made by hooves.
The air was warm, accompanied by a soft breeze that tugged gently at the stallion's mane and tail, though lacked the strength to pull at it. Birds flew from tree to tree, twisting and looping as they sang. Other, more grumpy creatures mutters about on the forest floor, collecting food and complaining about the obnoxious music and happiness that came with the time of year and day. Asher's ears flickered, taking in the sounds, but not really listening to what was being said. It was all nonsense to him most days. Occasionally a bird would flutter over him, or use his neck as a perch until he shook them off. Obnoxious and annoying? He had to agree. Though, it was better than the company of his own kind. Forcing himself to carry on a conversation for too long was just exhausting. What was there to truly talk about that was interesting enough to hold his attention? Instead, he'd rather wander around the forest, alone, where he was always finding new things that weren't there the day before. It was ever-changing, and he enjoyed that. And he didn't have to think of polite or thoughtful replies in a conversation that he cared nothing about. There was no pointless effort in wandering.
The cream and white beast switched gears, sliding forward into a trot as he weaved through the trees and bushes. Some would believe that he knew this area like he knew his own body. At times that was true, though one can never really know every inch of the forest. It had different personalities to match the weather and the seasons, and even the most familiar place could appear wrong in an unfamiliar situation. But that's what made it that much more exciting. On a day like this, the sun shining and just a few clouds; the warm air surrounding you and a cool breeze swirling around at the right moments -- traveling in the forest was a piece of cake. Finding ones way was almost as easy as walking through the meadow, and dangers were far away.
